Security threats are front page news effecting brand and market share. They’re getting more frequent and sophisticated. Marketing activities are plentiful in trying to help security leaders comprehend the challenges facing them. So why is IBM’s Security Leader’s day on 10th November any different?
Well, in a recent IBM study that talked to C-level executives, IBM learned that two years ago IT security ranked low on the list of concerns. Now, 68 percent of respondents rank IT security as the number-one enterprise risk.
IBM is one of the world’s largest security companies with over 4500 managed security clients worldwide, dealing with 21 billion security events a day across 10 Security Operations Centres globally, supported by 9 dedicated security research centres and cyber security assets of 700Tb all focused on addressing your cyber challenges.
Not only do we want to share our expertise with you, we want to open up the cybersecurity debate. We will be joined by two fantastic speakers representing both sides of the story. Charlie McMurdie, former head of the central e-crime unit at the Metropolitan Police will share her view on the market, as well as her war stories. She’s a fantastic speaker and you’ll get the opportunity to ask questions in the Q&A. And I’m particularly looking forward to Alexis Conran’s ‘Think like a Fraudster’ session to help us – the ‘good guys’ – understand the psychology behind scamming.
We have an interactive afternoon planned so that we can continue this journey together and explore new ways to tackle the cyber threats that keep on coming at us every day. This will take the shape of roundtable discussions on the dark web and on how security can support Innovation.
And if that’s not enough, we have built a Security Operations Centre for you to experience. It will show how technology and processes deal with a real-time attack unfolding and the potential business impact of such an attack.
24/7 connectivity in our ‘always on’ digital era is breeding more opportunity for cybercrime and 95% of IT security breaches are down to human error. We will have some of our latest security solutions that have been built with the changing world of commerce in mind and you are welcome to explore these.
- IBM X-Force Exchange (collaborative cloud based threat intelligence platform so we can work together to keep bad at bay)
- IBM Cloud Security Enforcer (safeguarding new ways to work)
- IBM Penetration Testing (know your weaknesses and strengthen your defences)
In a recent interview, Carmina Lees, Director of IBM Security in the UK and Ireland highlighted that “It’s critical that anybody who touches on security in their day-to-day business attend this event. It will be key for them to understand what IBM is doing, and also what the market is doing in this space.”
IBM wants to explore with you, new ways in how we think about sec
urity to keep all of our organisations OUT of the headlines.
